Celebrities announced for NE1 Newcastle Fashion Week
Excitement is building as we get nearer to NE1 Newcastle Fashion Week, which promises to be the best yet!
At the recent bloggers event at Bonbar, we were left guessing which celebrities had been snapped up – we knew that a designer would be involved but who? The obvious North East designers were discussed, however an eagerly anticipated press release yesterday told us that Julien McDonald OBE, international designer would be gracing us with his presence at this year’s NE1 Newcastle Fashion Week.
On Saturday May 10th Julien will be presenting three catwalk shows at the Assembly Rooms, and will talk us through Newcastle’s best high street fashion from 12pm to 2pm. The glamour has been cranked up a notch (if that’s possible) as he will also be presenting the VIP only Vivienne Westwood event on Saturday evening at 8pm, hosted by Cruise. Julien is renowned for his catwalk-ready dresses worn by the likes of Beyonce and Dannii Minogue.
The Official Launch party at Bonbar on Friday May 9th sees musician, DJ and Strictly dance diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor team up with her husband, musician Richard Jones (from the Feeling) for their hour long “Me and Mrs Jones” DJ set. She has just released a new album – Wanderlust and will be performing at festivals this summer.
Youtube sensation (with 135 million page views) and South Shields born makeup supremo Lauren Luke will be talking about her amazing rise to fame and career at Northumbria University on Friday 16th May as a headline guest speaker at Get into Fashion – a not to be missed event with essential talks, tips and advice on how to have a career in fashion.
The opening weekend of NE1 Newcastle Fashion Week is not to be missed!
